Free Award Certificate Template with batch names, signature lines and a seal
Start from an achievement, appreciation or employee of the month design, paste a list of names to print one award certificate per person, and add signature lines and a seal for a finished look. Everything stays in your browser, and you can print on Letter or A4.
The achievement design is selected. Switch to appreciation or employee of the month, edit the wording, paste your list of names, turn on the signature lines and print at 100%.
Choose a template, type the wording once and, for a class or team, paste a list of names to get one certificate per name. No sign-up and nothing is uploaded: the text stays in your browser. Download a PDF or PNG, or print on Letter or A4. For informal recognition certificates, not official diplomas or verified credentials.

Printing notes
Use actual size or 100 percent scale in the print dialog so the certificate border stays inside the printable area.
PDF and PNG export use the same SVG certificate preview, including borders, backgrounds, decorations, and line breaks.
Batch mode only creates local multi-page PDF output from pasted names. It does not create accounts, databases, email sends, certificate verification, or public hosting.
For official diplomas, licenses, qualifications, notarized papers, legal certificates, or verified credentials, use the issuing institution's official process instead.
For certificates people keep, print on 28–32 lb bond or 65–110 lb cardstock (105–300 g/m²) and run one test page on plain paper first.

Why this award certificate template is quick to use
Three things most free award certificate downloads leave out.
Achievement, appreciation and employee of the month, ready to edit
Pick Certificate of Achievement, Certificate of Appreciation or Employee of the Month. Each starts with its own border, color and wording, such as 'is proudly presented to', and you can change the title, reason, organization and signer in a few clicks. Every design also works on Letter or A4.
Paste a list of names and get one award certificate each
Paste one name per line, or paste columns from Excel or Google Sheets, and each name becomes its own page of the PDF. Add a reason and a date after the name to personalize an award certificate, for example 'Mia Chen | for the most improved reader'. Up to 100 per PDF.
Switch on signature lines to get a ruled space for a handwritten signature above the signer's name and the date, then add a gold, red, star or ribbon seal. Sign with a pen after printing; a real signature is what makes an award certificate feel official.
How to make an award certificate template in five minutes
From a blank form to a stack of printed award certificates ready to sign.
01
Choose the type of award certificate
Tap Achievement for a result or milestone, Appreciation to say thank you and Employee of the Month for workplace recognition. Edit the title, the organization and the wording so it names the award, for example 'Most Improved Reader' or 'Customer Hero'.
Be specific: 'for 100% attendance in the spring term' beats 'for great work'.
Use certificate of appreciation wording for thanks, not 'successfully completed'.
02
Add the recipient or paste your list
Type one name, or paste a list into the names box with one person per line. Add a reason and a date after the name if each award is different. Check each certificate with the preview arrows before you print.
Copy a column straight from Excel or Google Sheets.
Use Sort A–Z to hand the stack out in alphabetical order.
03
Add the signer, signature lines and a seal
Type the signer's name and title, such as a principal, coach or manager, and switch on signature lines. Pick a seal if you want one. Letter is the default in the US and Canada, A4 in the UK, Australia and most other countries.
Landscape is the usual direction for an award certificate; portrait suits framed awards.
Keep text at least 0.25 in (6 mm) from the edge so a home printer does not crop it.
04
Print at 100% and sign
Download the PDF or click Print, choose Actual size or 100%, never Fit to page, and print page 1 on plain paper first. Then print the batch on 24–32 lb (90–120 g/m²) paper or light cardstock and sign each certificate by hand.
Use a pen that does not smudge, and sign after the toner is dry.
Stick a gold foil sticker over the seal for a premium look.
Award certificate template FAQ
What to write, what size to print and how to make many certificates at once.
Is this award certificate template really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no trial, no watermark and no limit on printing. The certificates are drawn in your browser and the PDF or PNG goes straight to your device, so the names you type or paste are never uploaded.
What should I write on an award certificate?
Include five things: a title (for example Certificate of Achievement), the recipient's name, a line such as 'is proudly presented to', the specific reason, and the date and signature of the person giving it. Name the real achievement, such as 'for the most improved reading score this term', not just 'for good work'.
What is the difference between a certificate of achievement and a certificate of appreciation?
A certificate of achievement recognizes a result or milestone, such as a top score, a finished course or a record. A certificate of appreciation thanks someone for effort or support, such as volunteering or helping a team. Pick the one that matches the reason, and avoid 'successfully completed' on an appreciation certificate.
How do I make an employee of the month certificate?
Choose the Employee of the Month preset, type the month, the employee's name and one or two lines about what they did, such as 'for exceeding sales targets and mentoring new team members', and add the manager as the signer. Print on 24–32 lb paper and sign it by hand.
How do I make award certificates for a whole class or team?
Paste one name per line in the names box, or paste two columns from Excel or Google Sheets: name, then reason. Each line becomes one page, up to 100 in one PDF. You can add a different date for each person as a third column.
What size is an award certificate?
Most are full-page: US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) in the US and Canada, A4 (210 × 297 mm) in the UK, Australia and most of the world. Landscape is the usual direction, and portrait works for framed awards. Larger sizes such as 11 × 14 in are for framing.
Who signs an award certificate?
The person who gives the award signs it: a teacher or principal for school awards, a coach for sports, a manager or director for work. Many certificates have two lines, one for the signer and one for the date. This page prints the lines, and you sign by hand after printing.
Can I print an award certificate template at home?
Yes. Download the PDF, choose Actual size or 100%, print one test page on plain paper, then print on 24–32 lb (90–120 g/m²) paper or light cardstock. Keep the printer's borderless option off so the border is not cropped.
Are student and employee names kept private?
Yes. The names, reasons and dates are only used to draw the certificates in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and closing the tab clears the list, so download the PDF if you want to print again.
