Best for
- Parents and homeschoolers who want a fresh page every day for a 3 to 5 year old
- Preschool and kindergarten teachers who need a quick centre or morning-work sheet
- Anyone who wants preschool worksheets without accounts, ads or watermarks
Not the best fit for
- Letter and number writing practice: use the handwriting practice sheet generator for tracing
- Teaching on its own: sheets work best next to counting real objects, books and play
- Online games or progress tracking: the output is paper only
How it compares
- Fixed PDF libraries (Worksheetfun, Kids Academy, Education.com)
- Thousands of ready-made sheets, but the same sheet every time, and some need a free account or a subscription to download. This generator has fewer designs, but each page is new and nothing needs an account.
- Canva and Twinkl Create
- Great for decorated, hand-placed layouts, but you build every sheet yourself and sign in to save. Here counting, matching and spot the difference are laid out and checked for you.
- Asking ChatGPT or an image AI
- Good for ideas, but AI often miscounts objects and draws uneven lines. Here every count and every answer is calculated exactly.
Why these preschool worksheets stay fresh for a whole year
Three things a fixed PDF cannot do.
A new page every time you press the button
Most free preschool worksheets are one fixed PDF, so a child who loves counting soon owns the same page twice. Here the counts, pictures, shape grids and hidden differences are random. Press New worksheets and a different set appears, with no repeats inside a page. Pick animals today, vehicles tomorrow, or turn on every picture set for variety.

Three age levels: counting to 5, 10 or 20
A 3-year-old and a 5-year-old need different pages. Age 3 counts 1 to 5, finds circles, squares and triangles, uses four colors and looks for 3 differences. Age 4 counts to 10 with six shapes and seven colors. Age 5 counts up to 20 with nine shapes, eight colors and 5 differences. Siblings can each get their own level from the same page.

A 10-page pack with answer keys in one click
Press the 10-page pack and get all six activities in one PDF: counting, shapes, colors, matching, odd one out and spot the difference, then counting, shapes, matching and colors again with new pictures. Add answer key pages and check the whole pack in a minute. Spread the pages across a week; one sheet is plenty for one sitting.

What the free preschool worksheets generator includes
Everything runs in your browser, with nothing to install.
PDF, PNG or print
One PDF with every page and key, a PNG for tablets, or print straight from the page. No watermark.
Counting that adds up
Pictures are placed in a grid, so the printed count is always exact. Circle the right number or write it in a box.
Nine shapes, eight colors
Find and color circles, squares, triangles, rectangles, stars, hearts, ovals, diamonds and hexagons.
Matching and shadows
Draw a line from a picture to the same picture or to its shadow. The key shows every line.
Spot the difference
Two scenes, 3 to 5 clear changes: a missing picture, a swapped one or a new color.
Private by design
Sheets are made on your device. No account, no child names stored, nothing uploaded.
How to make preschool worksheets in four steps
From a blank page to printed sheets with an answer key in about two minutes.
Choose an activity or the 10-page pack
Open the preschool presets or pick an activity: counting, shapes, colors, matching, odd one out or spot the difference. The 10-page pack is the quickest start, with every activity in one PDF. Short sessions work best: the CDC says a 5-year-old pays attention for about 5 to 10 minutes during an activity, so one page at a time is enough.
- Not sure where to start? Counting and colors are the gentlest pages for a first sheet.
- Print the pack but hand out one or two pages a day.
Set the age and the pictures
Age 3 counts 1 to 5, age 4 counts 1 to 10 and age 5 counts 4 to 20, with more shapes, colors and differences at each step. The CDC milestones list drawing a circle at age 3, naming a few colors at age 4 and counting to 10 at age 5, so treat the levels as a guide, not a test. Then choose picture sets: animals, fruits, vehicles, toys or nature. For counting practice it helps to pick the pictures your child loves.
- Children vary a lot. If a page feels hard, drop to the next age level.
- For pre-writers, keep circle the number rather than write the number.
Press New worksheets and check the preview
Flip through the preview with Previous and Next. If you do not like a page, press New worksheets for a fresh set. Turn on answer key pages to see the counts, the matching lines and the differences circled in red. The settings let you switch the name and date lines off and change the header color.
- Matching works as pictures with shadows from about age 4.
- Use the answer key to check with your child instead of marking for them.
Print at actual size or save the PDF
Press Print or download a PDF. Print at 100% (actual size) on US Letter or A4 and keep the colors on for the colors and shapes pages. Black and white works too, because every color is named on the sheet. Give your child thick crayons, round stickers or a dot marker; a fist grip is fine at 3, and the CDC lists holding a crayon between fingers and thumb as an age-4 skill.
- Check that the print dialog says 100% or actual size, not fit to page.
- Slip a page into a plastic sleeve and use a dry-erase marker to reuse it.
Preschool worksheets FAQ
Answers about ages, counting, shapes, answer keys and printing.
Yes. There is no paid tier, no account and no watermark on the PDF, PNG or print. The sheets are generated in your browser, so nothing you choose is uploaded.
It varies by child and country, but common goals are counting objects, recognizing basic shapes and colors, sorting and matching, and holding a crayon. The CDC milestones mention drawing a circle at 3, naming a few colors at 4 and counting to 10 at 5. These preschool worksheets practice counting, shapes, colors, matching and noticing differences, and they work best next to play and real objects.
Choose Age 3. Preschool worksheets for 3 year olds count 1 to 5, use only circles, squares and triangles, name four colors, match 4 pairs and hide 3 differences. Answers are circled or matched with a line, never written. Keep sessions short and sit with your child.
Age 4 counts 1 to 10, adds rectangles, stars and hearts, uses seven colors, matches 5 pairs and hides 4 differences. Matching pictures to shadows is a good next step. Mix counting with colors and shapes, and try the 10-page pack across a week.
Choose Age 5. Counting runs from 4 to 20 and the answer is written in a box by default, with nine shapes, eight colors, 6 matching pairs and 5 differences to find. It is a good level for kindergarten readiness, and you can switch back to circle the number if writing is still tricky.
Yes. Turn on answer key pages and each key page shows four small copies of your sheets with the counts, matching lines, colored shapes and circled differences in red. The key is made from the same random sheet, so it always matches what you printed.
Yes. Press New worksheets and the counts, pictures, shape grids and differences are all drawn again. Within one page nothing repeats, though across many pages a picture can come back. Turn on more picture sets for more variety.
Yes. Every color is written next to its swatch, every shape has its name and counting uses numbers, so a black-and-white printout still works. Color printing makes the colors page and the spot-the-difference pictures more fun.
In moderation. NAEYC describes good early learning as play-based and joyful, so use worksheets as a short extra beside hands-on counting, sorting and drawing rather than a replacement. A single page is about 5 to 10 minutes of focus. Stop if your child is tired and come back another day.
The sheets fit both US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) and A4 (210 × 297 mm) in portrait. The page picks Letter for the US and Canada and A4 elsewhere, and you can change it under Paper and colors. Print at 100% so nothing is cropped.
