Best for
- Parents and homeschoolers who want a fresh page of kindergarten math or reading every day
- Teachers who need quick morning work, a center sheet or a homework page for one skill
- Anyone who wants kindergarten worksheets without accounts, ads or watermarks
Not the best fit for
- Picture-based counting and shapes for ages 3 to 5: use the preschool worksheets
- Letter and number writing practice with guide lines: use the handwriting practice sheet generator
- Word problems and long reading passages: the questions here are short and number- or letter-based
How it compares
- Fixed PDF libraries (K5 Learning, Education.com, Super Teacher Worksheets, Kindergarten-worksheets.com)
- Thousands of designed sheets, but the same sheet every time, and some pages need a membership or an account. This generator has a plainer look, but every sheet is new and nothing needs an account.
- Canva and Twinkl Create
- Good for decorated layouts, but you type every question yourself and sign in to save. Here the questions and the answer key are written for you.
- Asking ChatGPT for a worksheet
- Handy for ideas, but you still have to lay the page out and check each answer. Here every sum and every answer is calculated exactly and the page is ready to print.
Why these kindergarten worksheets match what your child is learning
Three things a fixed PDF cannot do.
Tick a skill and the questions appear
Most free kindergarten worksheets are a finished page about one topic. Here you tick the skills instead: count on, before and after, bigger or smaller, add within 5, subtract within 10, make ten, missing letters, sight words and more. Choose how many questions each skill gets, from 2 to 20, and the kindergarten worksheets are written in a second. Mix skills on one page or keep one skill per page.

A new sheet and an answer key every time
Press New questions and every number, sum and letter run is drawn again. A sheet never repeats a question, so a child who needs more practice with adding within 10 gets a different page each day. Switch on the answer key and you get a page that lists every question with its answer, so checking takes a minute and your child can mark their own page with you.

Letters and sight words from real lists
The sight-word kindergarten worksheets use the Dolch pre-primer and primer lists: 40 plus 52 common words such as the, see, and, can and play. Letter pages fill in a missing letter of the alphabet in capitals or small letters, and match a capital letter to its small one. Print one kindergarten worksheet of 20 words to read aloud and write, or mix letters and words on one page.

How to make kindergarten worksheets in four steps
From a blank page to printed sheets with an answer key in about two minutes.
Start from a ready-made set
Pick one of the seven sets: a mixed page, kindergarten math, add and subtract within 10, numbers and counting, alphabet, sight words or reading skills. The mixed page is the quickest start. Short sessions work best: the CDC says a 5-year-old pays attention for about 5 to 10 minutes during an activity, so one page at a time is enough.
- Not sure where to start? Counting on and bigger or smaller are the gentlest pages.
- Print a few pages but hand out one a day.
Tick the skills and set how many questions
Tick or untick skills and choose 2 to 20 questions for each one. Common Core kindergarten math asks children to count to 100 by tens, compare numbers 1 to 10 and add and subtract within 10, with fluency within 5, so add within 5 and subtract within 5 are the right first pages. Move to within 10 and make ten when those feel easy.
- Children vary a lot. If a page feels hard, drop back to within 5.
- Ticking a skill writes the list again, so edit individual questions last.
Press New questions and check the preview
Scroll through the preview. If you do not like a page, press New questions for a fresh set, or Add another set to put more questions after the current ones. Turn on the answer key to get a page that lists every answer. You can switch the name and date lines off and change the title, the instructions and the page color under Layout.
- Read each line aloud with your child; most 5-year-olds are still learning to read the instructions.
- Use the answer key to check together instead of marking for your child.
Print at actual size or save the PDF
Press Print or download a PDF. Print at 100% (actual size) on US Letter or A4. Write the answers on the blank, or circle the bigger or smaller number. The CDC lists writing some letters of their name at age 5, so expect large, wobbly numbers and give a fat pencil or crayon.
- Check that the print dialog says 100% or actual size, not fit to page.
- Slip a page into a plastic sleeve and use a dry-erase marker to reuse it.
Kindergarten worksheets FAQ
Answers about skills, sight words, answer keys and printing.
Yes. There is no paid tier, no account and no watermark on the PDF, PNG or print. The sheets are generated in your browser, so nothing you choose is uploaded.
It varies by state and by child, but Common Core kindergarten asks children to count to 100 by ones and tens, write numbers 0 to 20, compare numbers 1 to 10, and add and subtract within 10, with fluency within 5. In reading they should name all upper- and lowercase letters and read some common words by sight. These kindergarten worksheets practice exactly those skills.
Start with the Kindergarten math set: counting on, bigger or smaller, adding and subtracting within 10 and make ten. Kindergarten math worksheets work best when a child can use fingers, counters or a number line. Use the add and subtract within 10 set when you only want sums and differences.
There is no single official number. Common Core only asks children to read common high-frequency words by sight, such as the, of, to, you, she, my, is, are, do and does. Many schools use the Dolch lists, which have 40 pre-primer and 52 primer words. The sight-words set practices all 92 of them, 20 at a time.
The Dolch pre-primer list (a, and, away, big, blue, can, come, down and 32 more) and the Dolch primer list (all, am, are, at, ate, be, black, brown and 44 more). The words are drawn at random, never twice on one sheet. Paste your own list of words into the question box if your teacher sends a different one.
Yes. The Reading skills set mixes missing alphabet letters, capital and small letters and sight words. For letter writing with guide lines, use the handwriting practice sheet generator. For picture-based counting and matching at ages 3 to 5, use the preschool worksheets.
Yes. Turn on the answer key and the PDF gets extra pages that list every question with its answer. The key is made from the same random sheet, so it always matches what you printed. The sight-word set has no key because the answer is the word itself.
The CDC says a 5-year-old pays attention for about 5 to 10 minutes during an activity, so one page is plenty. Treat worksheets as a short extra beside counting real objects, reading books and play. Stop if your child is tired and come back another day.
The sheets fit both US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) and A4 (210 × 297 mm), portrait or landscape. The page picks Letter for the US and Canada and A4 elsewhere, and you can change it under Layout. Print at 100% so nothing is cropped.
