Christmas Wish List Printable for kids to draw, for adults to budget
Two lists in one free tool. Kids get a letter-to-Santa wish list with a box to draw every wish and lines to write it; grown-ups get a Christmas gift list with recipient, gift, budget, spent and a Bought box that adds up the totals. Type in it or print it blank, as a PDF on US Letter or A4.
The kids' wish list opens first: six boxes to draw in, lines to write each wish and a P.S. for Santa. Leave it blank to handwrite, or type the wishes in. Switch to the Christmas gift list to plan who gets what, with budget, spent and totals.

Best for
Parents who want a letter-to-Santa wish list children can draw and write on
Teachers and daycare staff printing one blank wish list per child
Adults planning gifts for 5–30 people on a set budget
Not the best fit for
A shared online wish list that relatives edit from their own phones (try a gift-registry app)
Lists with product links and prices pulled in automatically
A letter that comes back from Santa (that is a separate Santa letter template)
How it compares
Blog PDF wish lists
Often charming illustrations, but they are fixed files: you cannot type in them, many are Letter only, and some sit behind an email sign-up.
Canva
Far more design freedom and photos, but it needs an account, some elements are Pro-only, and it has no budget totals for a gift list.
Spreadsheets
Google Sheets or Excel are best for very long gift lists and sharing, but take setup and print poorly without adjusting the layout.
Why this Christmas wish list printable works for the whole family
One page for the kids, one for the grown-ups who do the shopping.
A box to draw every wish
Young children often can't spell what they want yet, but they can draw it. Each wish gets its own dashed drawing box, a number and two writing lines, so a four-year-old draws the red bike and you or an older sibling write it underneath. Mark the Biggest wish with a gold star.
The heading reads Dear Santa, this year I tried really hard to be good, with a line for the child's name and a P.S. section at the bottom. Change the greeting to Father Christmas, add a sibling's name, then mail it or leave it by the tree with the cookies.
Switch to the Christmas gift list to plan every present: who it is for, the gift idea, what you meant to spend, what you actually spent and a Bought box. Budget and Spent add up automatically in a Total row, so you can see at a glance whether the plan still fits.
How to make a Christmas wish list printable at home
From this page to a finished list in about ten minutes.
01
Pick the kids' wish list or the gift list
Use the two buttons at the top of the tool. The kids' wish list has drawing boxes and writing lines; the Christmas gift list is a table with For, Gift idea, Budget, Spent and Bought. Both use the Christmas theme, and you can switch at any time.
Make one wish list per child so siblings don't argue over space.
Teachers: print the wish list blank, one per child.
02
Fill it in, or leave it blank
Type the child's name, change the greeting if you like (Dear Santa, Dear Father Christmas) and type wishes into the item list, one per box. To handwrite, leave the wishes empty: the boxes and lines still print. For the gift list, type the recipient, the idea and a budget for each person.
The 4-gift rule (something you want, need, wear and read) keeps kids' lists short.
Paste many names at once with Multi-line quick add.
03
Print at 100% on US Letter or A4
Choose the paper size under Layout, theme, and paper settings: US Letter in the US and Canada, A4 in the UK, Australia and most other countries. Download the PDF or click Print, and choose Actual size or 100% in the print dialog. Plain 20–24 lb (75–90 gsm) paper is fine for crayons and markers.
Use 65 lb cardstock if the list will hang on the fridge until Christmas.
Download a PNG to send the gift list to your partner or the family chat.
04
Draw, mail and track
Let children draw each wish and color the page, then mail it to Santa or leave it by the tree. In Canada, letters addressed to Santa Claus, North Pole, H0H 0H0 need no stamp; in the US, USPS Operation Santa takes letters each December. Keep the gift list in your bag and tick Bought as you shop.
Check the official Canada Post, USPS or Royal Mail page for this year's mailing deadline.
Take a photo of the child's list before mailing it so you still know what they asked for.
Printing, drawing boxes, Santa letters and gift budgets.
Is this Christmas wish list printable really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no email gate, no watermark and no paid download. The page is drawn in your browser and the PDF or PNG is saved straight to your device, so nothing you type is uploaded. You can print it for your own family, a classroom or a daycare group.
Can kids draw on this printable Christmas wish list?
Yes. Every wish has its own dashed drawing box with a number, plus writing lines underneath. Six boxes fit on one page by default: one to three wishes get wide cards, four to eight sit in two columns, and nine or more in three smaller columns. Leave the wishes blank and children can draw and write everything by hand.
Can I type into the Christmas wish list before printing?
Yes. Type the child's name, each wish and details such as color or size, and they appear on the writing lines in print. You can also mix: type the wishes for a toddler and let them draw the pictures, or print it blank for a child who wants to write it all.
How do you write a letter to Santa?
Start with Dear Santa and the child's name and age, say something they are proud of this year, list three to six wishes with the biggest one marked, and add a thank-you or a question for Santa in the P.S. This printable already has the greeting, the numbered wishes and a P.S. section.
Where do I send a letter to Santa?
In Canada, mail it to Santa Claus, North Pole, H0H 0H0 with a return address; no stamp is needed and Canada Post asks for letters by December 9 in 2026. In the US, USPS Operation Santa accepts letters each December. In the UK, Royal Mail uses Santa, Santa's Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ and needs a stamp. Check the official page for this year's deadline.
What should I put on a Christmas wish list as an adult?
Mix a few specific items (with size, color or a link in the notes), one experience such as a concert or class, something you actually need, and a small inexpensive idea so everyone can join in. Mark one wish as the biggest so people know your favorite.
Is there a Christmas gift list with a budget I can print?
Yes, the Christmas gift list template. It has For, Gift idea, Budget, Spent and Bought columns grouped by Family, Friends and Teachers & coworkers, and a Total row that adds up Budget and Spent automatically. Write your overall budget at the top to compare.
How much should I spend on Christmas gifts per person?
There is no right number, so start from the total you can afford and divide it. For reference, the US National Retail Federation's 2025 survey found holiday shoppers planned to spend about $628 on gifts in total. Many families set a per-person limit, such as $25 for friends and a Secret Santa cap at work.
Which paper size should I use for the Christmas wish list printable?
US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) in the US, Canada and Mexico, and A4 (210 × 297 mm) in the UK, Australia, Europe and most other countries. Switch it under Layout, theme, and paper settings and print at Actual size or 100%. The layout is redrawn for each size, so nothing gets cut off.
