Why this picture bingo for kids works at every age
Three things most free bingo printables leave you to do by hand.
Pictures first, words optional
Each square shows a clear line picture, with or without its name. Switch to pictures only for toddlers who can't read, or keep the words under the pictures so preschoolers start to match the sounds and letters.

One different card per child
Type the number of children and get that many cards, each with a small card number. The pictures are shuffled differently on every card, so the whole class does not shout bingo at the same moment.

Sight words when they're ready
Switch to Pre-K Sight Word Bingo for the 40 Dolch pre-primer words on 4×4 cards, or paste your own spelling words, letters or vocabulary. The same cut-out calling cards let a parent or teacher read each word out.

How to make and play picture bingo for kids
From this page to a printed class set in about five minutes.
Choose animals, vehicles, colors and shapes or sight words
The page opens with animal bingo. Use the buttons above the form to switch to vehicles, colors and shapes, or sight words. For children who can't read, open Page settings and set Card content to Pictures only; keep Pictures + words if you want them to start matching names.
- 3×3 cards (9 squares) are a comfortable start for ages 3–5.
- Use 4×4 for kindergarten and first grade.
Set one card per child and a theme
Enter the number of children plus two or three spares, and pick a theme from the Theme list. Use two cards per page for large squares small hands can cover, or four per page to save paper at a party.
- A free space in the middle gives everyone a head start.
- Add or delete words in the list to match what you are teaching.
Download the PDF and print at 100%
Click Download PDF and print on Letter or A4 at Actual size (100%). Plain paper is fine (20 lb in the US, 80 gsm in the UK and Europe); use cardstock or laminate the cards if you'll play again. Cut out the calling cards from the last pages.
- Nothing is uploaded; the PDF is made on your device.
- Print one test page first if your printer scales pages.
Draw a calling card and play
Give each child a card and some counters (buttons, pom-poms, dry beans or crayons). Draw a calling card, hold it up and say the word, and children cover the matching picture. The first child to complete a row, column or diagonal calls bingo; for a longer game, play until a card is full.
- Ask children to say each word back to you.
- With a group of preschoolers, give small prizes to everyone or play several rounds.
Picture bingo for kids FAQ
Answers for parents and teachers.
Yes. There is no sign-up, no email gate, no watermark and no paid download. The cards are drawn in your browser and the PDF or PNG is saved straight to your device, so your class list and word choices are never uploaded.
Every child gets a card with pictures instead of numbers, plus some counters. The caller holds up a picture or says its name, and children cover the matching square. The first child to fill a row, column or diagonal calls out bingo; play until a card is full for a longer game.
Use a 3×3 card with pictures only, play with one or two children, and let them match each picture you hold up. Skip rules about rows and simply cover every picture. Keep rounds to 5–10 minutes and finish before attention wanders.
Yes, that's what picture bingo is for. Choose Pictures only in Page settings so each square is a picture with no words. The caller says the name or shows the calling card, and children match by sight; they can say the word aloud as they cover it.
One card per child, plus two or three spares. For a class of 25 that is about 28 cards, or 14 pages at two cards per page and 7 pages at four per page. Every card is shuffled differently.
A 3×3 grid (9 squares) is a good start for toddlers and preschoolers; 4×4 suits kindergarten and first grade, and 5×5 works for older children. Smaller grids give larger pictures and shorter games.
Sight words are common words children learn to recognize at a glance. Choose Pre-K Sight Word Bingo to print the 40 Dolch pre-primer words (a, and, away, big, blue, can, come …) on 4×4 cards, or paste your own list and print word cards instead.
You can edit the word list freely, for example spelling words, letters, numbers or names. Words that match one of the built-in pictures show that picture; others are shown as text. Photos cannot be uploaded.
Both. US Letter is the default in the US and Canada, A4 elsewhere, and you can switch in Page settings. Use one card per page for a large print, two per page for most games, or four per page to save paper.
Buttons, dry beans, pom-poms, small coins, mini erasers or torn paper all work. For kids under three, use large markers that cannot fit through a toilet paper tube, and stay with them while they play.
